Luxor coals
Posted on February 29, 2012 | No CommentsI use them on occasion and have had no problems. They're like any other coal, you just have to be careful. -
Exotica
Posted on February 19, 2012 | No CommentsI don't prefer them, but exoticas aren't that bad. I find you need to let them develop a thicker layer of ash before pulling them, I usually let them get red all the way to the top until just the very top is black and then I flip them to make sure they... -
Bulk Natural Coals
Posted on February 19, 2012 | No CommentsThese coals suck. Plain and simple. Twice the size of normal coco squares, and twice the heat. 2 of these on a vortex bowl of Nak DA, cooked it within 3 hits. These are useless for anything except black leaf. -
Ignite Quicklight Coals
Posted on February 18, 2012 | No CommentsI received 2 rolls of these quicklights with my hookah order from hookah-shisha.com, and decided to review them for those who are interested. Right of the bat, im going to tell you there are many other quicklight brands better than ignites( 3 Kings, Golden, a brand i can't mention..). These coals are a bit harder to light than the other brands I mentioned, but it's not a huge hassle. Regarding longevity, they're not very long lasting. I would say around 35 mins. They don't hold up that well, a crumble a lot after a while when you try to shift them on the bowl. At the start of the smoking session, you can sense a "charcoally" taste, but it dissapates after a while. I just make sure most of the black powder covering the coal is burned away before placing it on the bowl. Overall, I would rate these coals a 6.5/10. I suggest buying one of the brands i mentioned earlier, or even if you have the ability to use natural coals, do it, it will be worth your while. -
Finger Style Coals
Posted on February 12, 2012 | No CommentsExotica Finger Coals Just opened a trial box of these guys, kinda hesitant as all I've used so far are the quick lights. Getting them started was actually easier than I thought. I broke one stick into thirds and put two pieces on my stove and set them... -
CocoUltimates
Posted on February 5, 2012 | No CommentsI agree with everything BigPoppa said. The coals have a strong campfire smell, but when you take them off the stove there is no odor. As for length, they last as long as a normal coconut coal (1 hour). However, I have had a problem with them splittin... -
Fantasia Air Flow Natural Coals
Posted on February 2, 2012 | No CommentsI recently bought a box of these on sale to try and I agree, the airflow design keeps them lit fairly well and they heated my bowl up perfectly. I used two on my vortex bowl. I had to end my session after about 45 minutes and at that time they still ha...
